ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Sep, 2026) A clash broke out between Senator Abid Sher Ali and Aimal Wali Khan during a Senate session, with footage of the incident emerging. Abid Sher Ali said remarks against “our chief minister” could not be allowed.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party Central President Senator Aimal Wali Khan spoke at a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights about extrajudicial killings and fake police encounters.

Aimal Wali Khan said the state was not implementing the decisions of the higher courts. He termed the activities of the CCD and CTD alarming.

He said police claimed to act according to the law, asking, “Which law allows firing a pistol in the nape?” He questioned who had given police the authority to declare someone liable to be killed, adding that the same story was released every time after an accused was killed. The clash between Abid Sher Ali and Aimal Wali Khan then took place during the session.

Later, speaking to the media outside Parliament, Abid Sher Ali said Aimal Wali Khan had used inappropriate language against Maryam Nawaz Sharif and made several other remarks.

He said Aimal Wali Khan had “thundered against Punjab” and expressed hatred for Maryam Nawaz’s projects. He said the remarks were out of context and that Aimal Wali Khan had tried to attack Maryam Nawaz two or three times, adding, “I will not allow it at all.” Responding to Aimal Wali Khan’s statement that “the government is frustrated,” Abid Sher Ali said, “We are not aggressive; his mental state should be fine.”
