The broadcaster reported that the Trump administration is considering a significant reduction in the US presence in the region if it succeeds in ending the conflict with Iran.

Citing senior government sources, CNN said the United States had greatly expanded its military and intelligence network in the Middle East after the 9/11 attacks to conduct operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Yemen and Libya.
