BCB and BCCI Working to Reschedule Bilateral Series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are actively searching for a suitable window to host their postponed white-ball series. BCB President Tamim Iqbal confirmed that both cricket boards remain sincere about fulfilling their bilateral commitments.

Speaking on the podcast Not out Noman, Iqbal emphasized that discussions are ongoing despite previous scheduling setbacks and political tensions between the neighboring countries.

Background on the Delayed Tour

The white-ball tour was originally planned for August 2025 and later considered for September. The series itinerary includes:

• Three One-Day Internationals (ODIs)
• Three T20 International matches

Political developments in 2024 strained relations between Dhaka and New Delhi, creating scheduling challenges for international fixtures. Security concerns subsequently led to further delays in confirming team travel.

Current Status of Bilateral Cricket

According to reports initially highlighted by Dawn News, India last toured Bangladesh for a full series in 2022, while Bangladesh visited India in late 2024.

Finding an open slot in the crowded Future Tours Programme (FTP) remains the primary hurdle for both boards. However, BCB leadership assured supporters that positive intentions from both sides will help finalize the revised schedule soon.
