LONDON, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Sep, 2026) Pakistan High Commission in London on Monday held a ceremony to commemorate Defence and Martyrs Day, paying tribute to the armed forces and the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives in defence of the country.

Former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General (retd) Zubair Mahmood Hayat attended the ceremony as the guest of honour, which was also attended by British parliamentarians, senior UK government officials, ambassadors, defence attaches, media representatives and a large number of friends of Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK Tipu Usman paid tribute to the armed forces and martyrs, saying the courage and determination demonstrated by Pakistan during Marka-e-Haq had once again showcased the capability and resolve of the country’s defence forces.
