SWAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Aug, 2026) The district administration on Tuesday directed all relevant departments to intensify anti-mosquito operations, inspect potential breeding sites and strengthen public awareness campaigns across the district to prevent dengue.

A meeting of the District Dengue Control and Response Unit held here with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohibullah Khan Yousafzai in the chair reviewed the latest dengue situation in the district and measures being taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

District Dengue Focal Person and Deputy District Health Officer Dr Fazal Arif briefed the meeting on progress made so far, the performance and responsibilities of various departments, preventive measures and implementation of directives issued at the previous meeting.

Representatives of the Health Department and other relevant departments also apprised the meeting of ongoing dengue prevention activities.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief and Human Rights) Naimatullah, all Assistant Commissioners through Zoom, and representatives of the District Health Office, Water and Sanitation Services Company Swat, education Department, Social Welfare, Civil Defence, Industries and Consumer Protection, Local Government, Tehsil Municipal Administrations, Public Health Engineering and other departments.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the TMAs, Local Government, Public Health Engineering and Water and Sanitation Services Company to ensure effective anti-mosquito spraying and fumigation to prevent the breeding of dengue mosquitoes.

He stressed that dengue prevention was not merely an administrative matter but a collective social responsibility, calling for intensified public awareness campaigns at schools, educational institutions and public places.

He also directed all Assistant Commissioners to inspect tyre shops, block factories, nurseries and other establishments where stagnant water could provide breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes.

The Health Department was directed to keep isolation wards for dengue patients functional at all hospitals so that any emergency situation could be handled promptly.

Mohibullah Khan Yousafzai said the district administration attached the highest priority to protecting precious human lives and that no negligence would be tolerated in ongoing anti-dengue measures.
