The citizen says he found Rs70,000 in e-challans when he went to sell his motorcycle to pay the bill, and has appealed for the e-challans to be cancelled.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Sep, 2026) A Faisalabad resident received an electricity bill of Rs50,000. When he went to sell his motorcycle to pay it, he discovered e-challans worth Rs70,000. According to a media report, the resident said that his household had received an electricity bill of Rs70,000. Anyone can visit our home and see that there is nothing there. Only three fans are used, which every household has. I decided to sell my bike and pay the bill. There, I found out that there were 35 challans worth Rs70,000. He said all the challans were for helmet violations and that he had committed no other offence.

I appeal to the government to warn poor people and let them go. I work repairing motorcycles at a shop and earn Rs1,000 per day. I did not receive a single message about the 35 challans.

If I had received a message, I would have paid them. I did not wear a helmet previously, but now I wear one even when I go to buy vegetables. There is a bypass road next to my home, which is why the challans were issued.
