“Shehbaz government’s vision!” the former federal minister wrote in an X post, sarcastically describing the deserted petrol pumps as a major success of higher petrol and diesel prices.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Sep, 2026) Public outrage is growing in Pakistan over the continued increase in petroleum product prices, while former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has also criticised the government. Sharing a Pakistan Television (ptv) video, Fawad Chaudhry expressed his reaction to the Shehbaz government’s measures on the social media platform. He wrote, “Shehbaz government’s vision!” The government claims that the deserted petrol pumps resulting from higher petrol and diesel prices are actually a major success. Fawad Chaudhry adopted a sarcastic tone regarding the government’s stance and also wrote in English, “Can you believe that…”

It may be noted that the increase in petroleum product prices has caused serious difficulties for citizens.

The rise in petrol and diesel prices is also expected to increase the prices of essential commodities, including transport costs.
