Kagiso Rabada Misses First Test Against Australia

South Africa faces a major tactical shift as premier fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the first Test match against Australia, according to ESPN Cricinfo. His absence reshapes the Proteas' bowling unit for the series opener.

Anrich Nortje Returns to the Playing XI

To fill the fast-bowling void, Anrich Nortje returns to South Africa's Test XI. This marks Nortje's first appearance in the red-ball format since March 2023, providing essential high-speed impact to the lineup.

Strategic Choice: Dual Spin Strategy

In addition to Nortje's return, South Africa has opted for a tactical adjustment by selecting two specialist spinners in their XI:

• Keshav Maharaj: Leading the slow-bowling attack with controlled turn and experience.
• Simon Harmer: Offering specialized off-spin support to exploit pitch conditions.

This strategic combination of raw pace and a dual-spin setup aims to neutralize Australia's batting lineup despite the setback of missing Rabada.
