PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Aug, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Tuesday took notice of the alleged abduction, sexual assault and murder of a five-year-old girl in Haripur and directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough probe into the tragic incident.

Expressing deep grief and condemning the incident, the CM described the alleged assault and killing of the child as extremely distressing and deplorable.

He said police had arrested three suspects during investigations following the girl’s disappearance, while a fourth suspect was arrested on their identification.

The girl’s body was subsequently recovered following interrogation of the arrested suspects.
