FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Aug, 2026) Punjab Secretary Livestock Ahmad Aziz Tarar has directed the department to accelerate provision of modern diagnostic, treatment and reproductive facilities in Jhang and make field services more effective to ensure timely and quality veterinary care for livestock farmers.
The Secretary Livestock, accompanied by Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Usman Tahir and Director General Production Dr. Muhammad Naeem Kanwar, conducted a detailed visit to Jhang and inspected the Civil Veterinary Hospital Jhang, District Livestock Diagnostic Laboratory, office of the Additional Director Livestock Jhang and Research Center for the Conservation of Indigenous Breeds (RCCIB).
During inspection of Civil Veterinary Hospital, Ahmad Aziz Tarar reviewed the facilities available at the newly established operation theatre and X-ray room.
He examined the arrangements and stressed that modern medical facilities should be made fully functional and utilized effectively for the benefit of livestock owners.
He also inspected the ongoing renovation and upgradation work at the District Livestock Diagnostic Laboratory and directed the officers concerned to complete all remaining work within 15 days.
He said that the upgraded diagnostic facilities should contribute towards early and accurate identification of livestock diseases and improve the quality of veterinary services being provided to farmers.
At the office of Additional Director Livestock Jhang, the Secretary was given a detailed briefing about the department's performance in the district, ongoing field activities and various facilities being provided to livestock farmers.
He reviewed the implementation of departmental programs and sought information about the effectiveness of field operations.
Ahmad Aziz Tarar also met livestock farmers during the visit and listened to their problems, suggestions and feedback regarding veterinary services.
He stressed that the concerns raised by farmers should be addressed promptly and that field staff should maintain close contact with the livestock farming community.
The Secretary directed the officers to further strengthen field services alongside expanding modern diagnostic, treatment and reproductive facilities.
He said that livestock farmers should have access to timely, reliable and quality veterinary services particularly through an efficient field service delivery mechanism.
He further emphasized that the department's infrastructure and human resources should be utilized in an effective manner to improve animal health, enhance productivity and provide maximum support to livestock farmers.
The Secretary directed the concerned officers to ensure that the ongoing development and upgradation works were completed within the stipulated timelines and the benefits of improved facilities reached livestock farmers at the grassroots level.
