MIRPUR (AJK) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 19th Sep, 2026) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mirpur Khurram Iqbal here Saturday announced strict action against elements involved in moneylending, saying the police was tightening the noose around those exploiting vulnerable citizens through thet practice.
Talking to APP here he said dozens of complaints regarding moneylending had been received by the police and action was being taken on them in accordance with the law.
The SSP said illegal profiteering and exploitation by moneylenders had made the lives of several families miserable. Those trapping needy and vulnerable people in debt for financial gain would not be given any concession, he added.
Khurram Iqbal said the police were adopting a zero-tolerance policy against such elements and no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
He urged citizens to report complaints relating to moneylending, undue pressure and harassment to the police without fear.
Khurram assured that all possible legal measures would be taken to ensure justice for victims and protection of citizens.
