Portal as part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of making Punjab “free from illegal weapons and secure.”

According to Home Department spokesperson, more than 350 arms dealers from across Punjab participated in the training workshop, while arms dealers from all Deputy Commissioner offices also attended the session online.

Additional Secretary Judicial Abdul Rauf, Deputy Secretary Judicial Muhammad Murtaza and officers of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) provided training to the participants on the online portal and explained the procedure for entering complete inventory and transaction details.

The Home Department, on the request of arms dealers, had extended the deadline for registration on the online portal by another 10 days. The dealers had now been given September 6, 2026 as the deadline for uploading details of their existing stock and recording their purchase and sale transactions.

During the workshop, arms dealers were directed to ensure complete registration of their existing stock by the stipulated deadline. They would be required to record details of all weapons and ammunition in their possession as well as complete details of every purchase and sale transaction on the online portal.

Under the new system, a complete digital record of all guns and ammunition held by each registered arms dealer would be available with the Home Department. Similarly, records of arms purchase and sale transactions across Punjab would be maintained online.

All DCs would assist arms dealers in their respective districts in completing the registration and uploading of required details.

According to spokesperson, the digital registration of arms stock and purchase and sale transactions aims to eliminate crime and curb the illegal purchase and sale of weapons in Punjab.

The spokesperson said that of the total 413 registered arms dealers in Punjab, 230 had so far entered their details on the digital inventory system.

Arms dealers who fail to upload their inventory within the stipulated deadline would face action under the law. Their licences could be suspended, businesses sealed and fines imposed for failure to register on the online portal.

The participating arms dealers appreciated the training workshop and the efforts of the Home Department to introduce a modern digital system for maintaining transparent records of arms stock and transactions.
