MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2026) The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan Region arrested a Union Council secretary red-handed while allegedly receiving a Rs10,000 bribe during a trap raid on Saturday.
According to an ACE spokesperson, the operation was carried out by a team led by Circle Officer Ali Hassan under the supervision of Regional Director ACE Multan Basharat Nabi and a judicial magistrate.
The accused, identified as Akhtar, secretary of Union Council No.
54, Rashidabad, Multan, was allegedly caught receiving Rs10,000 from complainant Muhammad Ayaz, son of Muhammad Murad. The marked Currency notes were recovered from his possession and taken into custody as evidence.
The spokesperson said the accused had earlier allegedly received Rs5,000 from the complainant in exchange for issuing a birth certificate.
A case was registered against the accused under the relevant law, while further investigation was underway.
