ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2026) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will approach the Supreme Court against the Islamabad High Court’s decision on a petition challenging its long march.

PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said the September 27 long march would not be postponed and that the Islamabad High Court’s order against the protest would be challenged before the Supreme Court and other higher courts. Speaking in a private tv programme, Sheikh Waqas Akram said Mohsin Naqvi’s tone was regrettable.

He questioned whether it was the job of government ministers to threaten the opposition by saying that bullets would be fired. It may be recalled that, in its 37-page detailed judgment on a petition against the PTI’s September 27 long march, the Islamabad High Court said that any activity affecting fundamental rights would be considered a violation of the Constitution.

It said that violating the fundamental rights of Islamabad’s citizens would constitute a constitutional violation and that the responsible person would face action under the law. The Islamabad High Court said no political party had any legal right to block highways and roads.

It directed provincial governments not to use official resources and funds for the march to Islamabad, and imposed a complete ban on using government vehicles and machinery to facilitate the long march. The court order said an immediate helpline should be established for government employees in case of illegal orders.

Action would be taken against those violating court orders and affecting citizens’ rights. The court said that if a public office-holder violated the Constitution and the law, they would be guilty of breaching their oath.

If citizens’ fundamental rights were affected because of a government official, it would be considered a violation of the official’s oath, and responsible government officials would face consequences for violating the Constitution and the law.
