LASBELA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2026) Commissioner Lasbela Division Saira Atta has said that transparency and financial discipline will be ensured in the approved project for the reconstruction of houses for flood-affected families, guaranteeing the success of the initiative. She expressed these views during a briefing by the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) at the LEDA Conference Hall.

The Commissioner emphasized that no negligence will be tolerated in the rehabilitation project for families whose houses were destroyed in the 2022 floods. She noted that the government’s vision for good governance is clear and must be reflected in the execution of the project.

During the briefing, District Manager NRSP Jahangir Baloch informed that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has provided verified lists of 18,815 flood-affected families. In the first phase, approval has been granted for the construction of 6,200 houses.

So far, 3,300 single-room houses have been built in Lasbela, while in Awaran, out of 527 approved houses, 300 single-room houses have been completed.

NRSP is working in collaboration with 2,225 community-based organizations in Lasbela district. In 22 union councils, 21 Women Resource Centers have been established. The programme is also engaged in community institution planning and capacity building across the division.

The briefing further revealed that under grant-in-aid, 6,730 families living below the poverty line have been provided livestock for livelihood support. Additionally, 1,100 women have received skill development training through BTVOTEC at Zebtic, enabling them to support their families economically.

The District Support Manager highlighted that NRSP is working with communities to solarize 534 community water supply schemes. Moreover, 211 village development projects have been planned across 22 union councils.

Under the ICCM project, ten union councils in Lasbela’s mountainous areas have been selected to improve access to healthcare services. All Basic Health Units (BHUs) are being provided with malaria screening kits and essential medicines free of cost, based on local needs.
