Journalist Muneeb Farooq says overseas remittances of Rs2.5 million to Rs3 million sent for PTI Secretariat expenses were not processed by the State Bank and were returned.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2026) Journalist Muneeb Farooq has said that the State Bank did not process remittances sent by PTI supporters overseas, and the money was returned.
In his vlog, Farooq said it was being reported that PTI currently had no money at all. These funds were used to pay the rent of the PTI Secretariat and employees’ salaries, but the State Bank did not process them and they were returned because they had been flagged.
He added that if people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa still provide funds to PTI.
Farooq said that, naturally, not everything is noticed, raising questions about how long protests could continue.
He said PTI was facing a shortage of funds because overseas supporters who used to send Rs2.5 million to Rs3 million for salaries at the PTI Secretariat had their remittances returned after the State Bank did not process them.
Local businesspeople had also received the message that funding PTI could create problems for them. Meanwhile, important revelations and claims have emerged about the country’s political and economic situation, including reports of behind-the-scenes meetings between government figures and PTI leaders.
According to the details, anchorperson Muneeb Farooq said in a Geo news programme that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar had held three to four meetings with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during the current month, one of which was exceptionally long.
In this regard, PTI leaders were allegedly told that if a protest was not held on September 27, Imran Khan could be shifted to another, better hospital instead of PIMS Hospital.
